2011 – Our numbers continued to rise, hitting 3.6 million members in ESL! 

It was also in this year that Turtle Entertainment Polska was established as a joint venture. This venture pooled the strengths of ESL and Grupa Leonardo Ltd., the company behind Cybersport.pl, which organized the most famous tournaments in Poland, such as the Liga Cybersport. This new Polish branch was targeted to provide a professional competition platform for the growing number of Polish computer gamers and to establish further projects such as the national professional league ESL Pro Series in Poland.

The IEM World Finals 2011 in Hanover, Germany was another event for the books, with broadcast in 5 languages covering Counter-Strike, Quake Live, and StarCraft II. The event recorded 85,000 concurrent spectators.

League of Legends was incorporated for the very first time in IEM Season V with a four team invitational and was met with rousing success! It was picked up again in IEM Season VI.
