ESL Swiss Announces 6th Season Of The SWISSCOM HERO League

The Swiss National Championship Season 6 returns with CS:GO, Clash Royale and League of Legends, sponsored by Official Partner Logitech G and supplied by Red Bull. CS:GO S6 winners will advance to the ESL National Championship Global Playoffs where they will compete for slots into the international ESL Pro Tour Masters level tournaments

29 June 2021 – ESL, the world’s largest esports company and Swisscom, Switzerland’s largest telecommunications provider, announce the sixth season of the Swisscom Hero League, with Official Sponsor Logitech G and supplied by Red Bull.

Over the last three years, the Swisscom Hero League has established itself as the most-watched esports league in the country. Season 6 will again feature three gaming titles: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Clash Royale and League of Legends. Tournaments will be streamed online on twitch where the qualifiers for CS:GO and Clash Royale will be played out on July 17 and 24. The qualifiers for League of Legends will be held on September 4 and 5. The Grand Finals for Season 6 will take place live at Switzerland’s largest gaming and pop-culture festival, the Hero Fest in October.

CS:GO will be supported for the first time by dedicated community casters who will be given rights to stream hitherto unseen matches from the Group Stage on their own channels.

SWISSCOM INCENTIVE PROGRAM

In an ongoing commitment to the professionalization of the national esports scene, Swisscom is renewing the incentive program implemented during Season 5. The program will reward a modest stipend to all competitors in the playoffs who provide high resolution photographs and documented social media engagement with the Hero League. Teams are welcome to use these resources towards developing their esports organization and  careers as they see fit.

CS:GO COMMUNITY CASTER INITIATIVE

ESL and Swisscom are expanding the zero-to-hero initiative beyond players and now include casters as representing another important role of the esports ecosystem. For the first time, two official community casters will be selected and given rights to broadcast not just the CS:GO qualifiers, but also half of the matches during the group stage on their own channels, in the language of their choice, giving them a unique chance to work with a professional league, receive training and gain valuable experience. The official ESL Swiss stream will remain in English, broadcasting on Mondays and Thursdays:Thanks to the Community Caster program, Swiss fans will also be able to tune in on Wednesdays and Fridays and enjoy twice as much competitive CS:GO content.

SEASON 6 FORMAT

CS:GO

The Season 6 format follows on the success of previous seasons. Once qualified, the group stage will feature a  Best-of-1, double round robin between the top eight  teams. Streams will be on Mondays and Thursdays starting from August 16th at 20.00. Community Casters will stream on Wednesdays and Fridays. The top six  will then advance to the Best-of-3, single elimination Playoffs which will be streamed exclusively on ESL Swiss. The first and second seeded teams will get  a bye through to the semi-finals. The final two teams will face off in a Best-of-3 during the Grand Finals on stage at Hero Fest, with the winner advancing to the ESL National Championship Global Playoffs to continue their zero-to-hero journey. 

Clash Royale:

After a wild Season 5 that saw reigning champion SenpaiRekt dethroned and concluded with a Lausanne Esports derby between Zolag and Jesus, Clash Royale returns for a sixth season. Qualified Division one  players will again compete in a single round robin Best-of-5 Group Stage. Streams will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting from August 17th at 20.00. The top six  teams will advance to the Best-of-5 single elimination playoffs and the top two competitors will face off at Hero Fest in a Best-of-5.

 

League of Legends:

In keeping with the trend from Season 4 and 5, there is no carry-over of seeding and qualifications for League of Legends and the qualifiers will be open to the entire community. The League of Legends Season 6 bracket will draw 16 teams from qualifiers who will then play through a single elimination Best-of-3 group stage, streaming from September 15th at 20.00 The top eight  teams will advance into the Playoffs leading to a climactic Best-of-3 during the Grand Finals at Hero Fest.
