Updates Regarding ESL Challenger Anaheim

Cologne/New York/Stockholm  ESL Gaming today released additional updates regarding the ESL Challenger competition initially planned to take place at DreamHack Anaheim, February 11-13. The competition, a part of the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, will transition to an online format with all teams competing in the same server region, Europe, and will be played on the original dates, February 11-13.

The format change means that teams not from Europe will play from a bootcamp facility that can accommodate the team. ESL Gaming will cover travel and accommodation costs for these teams.

The $100,000 prize pool, awarding of EPT points, and the tournament format will remain unchanged, with the name being adjusted to ESL Challenger 48. The tournament furthermore still acts as a pathway for aspiring teams into the ESL Pro League, with the winning team qualifying for the Season 16 Conference Stage, set to take place at DreamHack Summer in June .
